Care & help
Caring for your medical ID
A medical ID only works if it can be read. A few easy habits keep it clean, comfortable and up to date.

The short version
- Rinse with fresh water and mild soap, then dry well.
- Rinse after the pool, the ocean or a workout.
- Check the clasp and the engraving every few months.
- Update your ID when your condition, medicines or contacts change.
Cleaning by material
- Stainless steel tags and chains: warm water, a drop of mild soap and a soft cloth or soft toothbrush. Dry completely.
- Silicone bands: wash with soap and water; let them air dry.
- Mesh bracelets: rinse, then pat dry and let the mesh dry fully before wearing.
- Gold and rose gold tones, crystals: wipe gently; avoid soaking and abrasive cleaners.
- Aluminum cards and keychains: wipe with a damp cloth.
Avoid bleach, chlorine cleaners, perfumes and lotions on your piece; they dull finishes over time.

When to check it
- Every few months: check that the clasp closes firmly and that every line is still easy to read.
- When your health changes: a new diagnosis, medicine or allergy means a new engraving.
- When your contacts change: a new phone number or emergency contact.
- Once a year: review your wallet card and QR profile too.
Out-of-date information can do harm. If your engraving no longer matches your medicines, replace it or remove the old line from view.

Questions
Can I shower with my medical ID?
Stainless steel and silicone pieces are made for everyday wear. Rinse with fresh water and dry them afterwards; take off pieces with crystals or plated finishes.
Will the engraving fade?
Our laser engraving is permanent on steel and aluminum. Over years, scratches can make small text harder to read; check it from time to time.
Can you re-engrave my old ID?
Engraving can't be removed, so a change in information means a new piece. Contact us and we will help you choose.
