Rose gold medical ID cuff engraved Type 1 Diabetes on a wrist

The short version

  • Wear it where responders look first: wrist or neck.
  • Pick a material that fits your day: silicone for sports and sleep, steel for everyday, mesh or crystals to dress up.
  • Custom engraving lets you include exactly what you need.
  • A wallet card or QR adds room for everything that doesn't fit.

Bracelet or necklace?

Responders check both. The difference is comfort and how much you want it to show.

Bracelet

  • The first place most responders check.
  • Visible to teachers, coaches and coworkers.
  • More styles, from sport to dressy.
  • Needs the right size: see the size guide.

Necklace

  • Nothing on your wrist while you work or type.
  • Can be worn under clothes.
  • Bar and dog tag styles fit lines on both sides.
  • Choose a length that stays visible at the collar.

Custom or pre-engraved?

Both have the medical symbol. The difference is what they say.

Custom engraved

  • Exactly your condition, medicines, allergies and contacts.
  • Right for more than one condition or rare diagnoses.
  • Can include your name and an ICE number.
  • Every MiaMia medical ID is made to order in our Florida studio.

Pre-engraved

  • A single word like DIABETIC or ALLERGY.
  • A quick option as a backup or a first ID.
  • No name or contact, so less helpful to responders.
  • Best paired with a wallet card.

Materials, simply explained

  • Stainless steel: strong, easy to clean, made for daily wear. Most of our tags are steel.
  • Silicone: soft and light, comfortable for sports, kids and sleeping.
  • Mesh and fine chains: look like everyday jewelry, adjust to your wrist.
  • Gold and rose gold tones: a dressier finish that still shows the medical symbol.
  • Aluminum: light and thin, used for our wallet cards and keychains.

Sensitive skin? Silicone and stainless steel are usually the most comfortable options. See how to care for your ID.

Questions

Can I wear more than one medical ID?

Yes. Many people wear a bracelet every day and carry a wallet card with the full details, or keep a QR piece for sports.

Which style is the most visible?

A bracelet on the wrist is the first place most responders check, followed by the neck. Choose the one you will wear all the time.

What size should I order?

Measure your wrist and add room for comfort. Our size guide has a printable ruler and a chart by style.

This guide shares general information to help you plan your medical ID. It is not medical advice. Ask your doctor what is most important to show for your condition.
